What a transaction ID is
A transaction ID (txid) is a reference to a specific transaction recorded on a blockchain. It lets you look the transfer up on a public explorer. That lookup confirms broadcast and inclusion in a block, which is useful evidence — but it is only one stage of a payout.
Four stages before "received"
| Stage | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Operator approval | Was the cashier request marked approved, pending, or rejected? |
| Broadcast | Does the txid appear on a block explorer? |
| Confirmations | How many blocks have passed? One is not settlement. |
| Wallet credit | Does your receiving wallet show the balance change? |
Confirmations are not instant
A transaction with zero or one confirmation can still be reorganised. Waiting for a reasonable number of confirmations before treating a payout as final is the conservative, evidence-based choice. The right number depends on the asset and the amount.
What to record
Keep a copy of the txid, the asset and network, the amount, the timestamp, and the operator's withdrawal status screen. Together these let you separate an operator-side delay from a network-side delay — the core diagnosis this site exists to support.
What a receipt does not prove
A txid does not prove the operator reviewed the request, does not prove your wallet will credit it, and does not guarantee the amount after network fees. Treat it as one input, not the whole answer.
